I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. As a kid, my heroes were characters like Ferris Bueller and Zack Morris, and I reveled in the idea of pulling a fast one on somebody in authority. At one point, I had skipped Spanish class 28 days in a row and had a 0. I was all about partying and girls, and I had no focus. After barely graduating high school, I started working for a guy named Dave, who ran a painting and home improvement company. He was my first great mentor and is still like a father to me to this day. I think a big part of why I acted out so much as a kid was because I was missing that kind of figure in my life, so it was a really profound experience to have him fill that void. Over the next four years, Dave taught me really fundamental skills like painting, tiling, and drywalling during the day, while I took classes at community college for interior design at night. I had to take a bunch of different classes for my major, but my drawing teacher was especially supportive. She encouraged me to keep drawing, which lead me to study design—and that is what made me realize I wanted to get out of Cleveland and go to a major metropolitan area.

By Daily Mail Reporter. After a ‘wild auction,’ Warner Brothers has acquired the screen rights to 40 Days of Dating , the real-life story of two graphic designer friends who documented their whirlwind dating experiment. According to Deadline , Michael Sucsy , the man behind The Vow and Grey Gardens, will direct the film, which has also secured the life rights of Jessica Walsh, 26, and Timothy Goodman, 32, the friends behind the blog.
The New Yorkers had been friends for four years, but after finding themselves single at the same time, they decided ‘dating‘ each other would be a worthwhile experiment, and documented each day on their website. The story of Jessica Walsh, 26, and Timothy Goodman, 32, both designers based in New York who decided ‘dating‘ each other for 40 days would be a worth-while experiment, will be turned into a film by Warner Bros.
The beautifully constructed website—which went live in mid-July—chronicles the experiment of two long-time friends fed up with the New York City dating scene who begin a relationship told through a series of daily blog posts. If virtually every recent article written about modern relationships is to be believed, casual hookups are rapidly replacing more familiar dating practices. That is not the case here.
Instead, Walsh and Goodman jumped headlong into a fully formed relationship, complete with weekly couples therapy sessions. The website has received so much attention over the summer that Walsh and Goodman signed with talent agency CAA. And the detail with which Walsh and Goodman chronicle each day they spend together through responses to a series of daily questions is unparalleled. The actual arc of their relationship, however, is nothing experimental.
Reading the blog entries reveals far greater nuance, but the problems they face are not particularly original. Barely a week after Walsh resolves to quit the experiment, the two have sex for the first time and by the time they head down to Disney World on Day 38 for their rules-mandated getaway, the two appear fully committed to each other. But and stop me if this sounds familiar by Day 39, things have taken a turn for the disastrous, with both unsure about the future of the relationship.
Friday is the 40th and final day.

Though neither Reeves nor Grant have confirmed their relationship, initial reactions to the couple were positive. Reeves was trending on Twitter from Monday evening through Tuesday morning with many praising the actor for dating a woman who is close to his age. But what happened to him sucks and he deserves some happiness. We all do. Saw the photos and legit thought Keanu Reeves was dating Helen Mirren.
Which I also would have supported. But despite eliciting cheery congratulations, the supposed couple is also sparking a conversation about the ways ageism and sexism in Hollywood persist — with many commenting on the absurdity of the actor trending for dating a woman nine years his junior.

Welker, an NBC News correspondent , recalled a point in her late 30s when most of her friends were having babies, and she was having trouble meeting the right guy. Still, in October , when mutual friends set her up on a date with John Hughes, a marketing director at Merck in Philadelphia, she was optimistic, in part, because he had received the stamp of approval of her best friend, Laura Nagle. Welker, now 40, was in Philadelphia visiting her parents, and with her overnight bag in tow, she caught a cab to a restaurant in Center City.
Waiting for her outside in a blazer was Mr. Hughes, now Welker remembered thinking. She was also relieved that she had ditched her jeans a friend had advised her to wear them on the theory that they would be less intimidating and, trusting her fashion instincts, put on a skirt. Welker was impeccably put together: her clothes, her makeup, her hair. He had been told she was on television news, but Mr.
Hughes, who was accustomed to getting his news elsewhere, had never seen her.
Longtime friends experiment, date for 40 days
T rying to find a significant other while living in a fast-paced city is a notoriously difficult process, especially as you try to balance all the other things you’re expected to do as a young adult find enough money to survive, carve out a career, etc. It’s a struggle to get into the habit of dating, and even tougher to turn those dates into meaningful relationships. We’ve read about many ways to deal with this problem, and have friends and family who fit into every category: singles in their mid- to lates, people in Skype-sustained long-distance relationships, serial internet dating players.
The pair had been friends for years and, on discovering they were single at the same time, decided to date each other for 40 days purely as an experiment. There was a set of strict rules: they would see each other every day, visit a relationship counsellor once a week, and they would be totally exclusive. Every evening they would separately complete a questionnaire to document their feelings.
It sounds like daytime television, or the plot of a new Hollywood rom-com. But it’s a real-life experiment being played out by two New York.

There were certain rules attached to the experiment. Finally, they had to fill in a questionnaire at the end of every day and document their relationship. They both treated the whole thing fairly analytically at first, like a science experiment with cocktails and cutesy little notes they write to each other before their dates.
